| Can You Give Your Dog Ice Cubes? I'm not sure if this question is ridiculous, but I'm asking. Is there anything wrong with giving Max ice cubes to chew on?

| Fynn gnaws on them and my Sheltie LOVED them. I don't think there's anything wrong with giving your dog ice cubes.

| 3/3 is good so far! Max's medicine increases his appetite and well as water consumption. Yesterday I gave him a bowl of ice cubes to sit outside and eat. He enjoyed it for about 1/2 hour. It's a good solution to his side effects, but I want to make sure it's safe.

| Prince's vet suggested giving ice cubes in his water to slow down his drinking; therefore, avoiding choking/gagging.

| Ice cubes are Austin's favorite. My vet told me to give him some since he is still teething. Works like a charm. =) Last edited by SoSoNYC1; 09-20-2010 at 05:57 AM. |

| When Bruce gets ice from the refrigerator dispenser sometimes some cubes fall on the floor. The dogs are right there to clean them up. Ice cubes are only water, nothing harmful there.

| I wonder if i could add ice to Max's food to avoid speed eating Maybe that's not a good idea.

| I give Bentley ice cubes once in a while. I don't see why it would do anything to harm our little ones. Glad to hear Max is doing well. |

| Karen, there is a product I saw in Petsmart sort of like a steel ball that you're supposed to put in the bowl full of food to make a dog not eat so quickly. Maybe someone else has another idea, but just remembered that product. Dyan |

| I think Max will eat the steel ball. I feed the boys together and Max is finished before Cooper even has 2 bites.

| It's a large ball that takes up most of the bowl, if I remember correctly so a dog can't eat quickly...he would have to go around the ball to get to the food. Max could not eat the ball being it is so large. |

| Mine LOVE ice! Especially Sonic ice. When I am done with my coke, I shake my cup and they are both instantly at my feet wanting me to give them some ice. It cracks me up because it's the only "treat" I give them I can actually tell they are chewing because of the crunch!
