| Lost interest in chew toys, however, still teething My 5 month old lost his front teeth about 2 weeks ago, and I can definitely see lots of new teeth pushing through his gums. Since the night I noticed his missing teeth, he has lost all interest in his chew toys. (He used to LOVE chewing on toys all day long) The good part is that he isn't chewing or destroying furniture, etc. He is however nibbling on me instead. Lots of biting/gnawing on my hands and feet. (I'm trying to deal with this issue with the recommendations from other threads) I've read that frozen toys can relieve the teething pain/anxiety, but he seems to have lost his interest in chewing on toys. He'll lick frozen toys once or twice, and then they just sit there and melt. Is there anything else I can do to entice him back to his chew toys? I have many different options out around the apartment for him to try, but he just leaves everything alone- Greenies chew, a Nylabone edible chew, rubber "teething" toys. Are the chews too hard for his teething teeth? He bites hard when he gets ahold of my fingers, so I'm not sure what's up. Any ideas? I feel bad that he doesn't have anything to keep his mouth busy all day

| Forgot to mention that whenever I try to give him his chews, he just puts them in his bedding, and "buries" them.

| Jackson was never interested in chewing toys but luckily never went through a huge chewing phase, either. He's only ever chewed real bones, have you tried bully sticks yet? I've never seen a dog turn one down! Just beware and look for the non-stinky ones because some of them can be brutal. Also, Himalayan Chews (which reminds me, I need to order more of these). Those last forever!

| Definitely bully sticks! I don't know what I would do without them during teething time.

| My yorkie will be 6 months old Oct. 3 and she does the same thing your baby does. I give her bully sticks and she has lost interest in them. She wants to chew my hands, feet and arms. I been taking clean washclothes and wringing them out. I shape them like a donut and put them in the freezer and she seems to like that for awhile. I do supervise her with these washclothes because I don't want her to eat any strings. She also drools alot and has bad breath but otherwise full of energy and eats alot. I think her gums are sore and she doesn't want to chew on hard things. Kinder just wants fingers and feet and it sure hurts when they bite with them sharp teeth. Hope this helps and maybe other members can give us some great suggestions. |

| Ordered some bully sticks I went ahead and ordered some bully sticks (just 2 to try for now). I read some of the reviews about the individual sticks being the smelly kind, but I don't want to pay $60 for a case of them if Levi ends up not liking them! I also bought a few 'Teenie' greenies to see if the smaller size will be more appealing to him. He has a 'Petite' greenie that just lays around on the floor. I did discover that he picked up an interest in these N-Bone Puppy Teething Treats over the last few days. (we've had them since we brought him home), but now he'll eat a whole stick in about 5 minutes. So, I'd have to guess that he prefers them now because they are softer rubbery chews. Thanks for all your advice!

| Bully sticks are a hit Levi loves the bully stick chew...he hasn't let it out of his sight since I gave it to him. Even when I get up to walk out of the room, he picks it up and follows me around with it in his mouth. Thank you!

| Glad to hear he loves the bully stick! DO NOT leave Greenies sitting around on the floor. They are known to possibly cause choking. I don't give Greenies anymore after reading multiple horror stories and even a personal story of my vet's dog choking on one.
