| Fruits, Veggies, & Raw Meats? Hi everyone, Another question I have is what raw treats you give your yorkies. I have heard some give blueberries and such, so I'd like to start giving Piper these every now and again as something special or possibly mix some things in with her food. Anyone have any suggestions as to what is safe? Thanks! |

| We feed home cooked and add alot of fresh food to the diet. Here are some things my dogs like and tolerate well. blueberries, raspberries, strawberries the occasional piece of orange pineapple sweet potato green beans carrots bell peppers broccoli spinach watermelon zucchini celery bananas Things to avoid - Onions, garlic, macadamia nuts, raisins, grapes, rhubarb --> all of these are toxic. As for raw meats - although there are many who raw feed, I do not believe this is safe for my household and thus we cook all meats. I roast or pressure cook my chicken and do not boil it.

Good list! I do feed prey model raw and as long as it is done correctly and you are comfortable with it, it will not hurt your dog. | |

| We feed prey-model raw, some pre-made raw, and some kibble. For treats we typically use fresh fruits like apples and bananas, veggies such as carrots, and pieces of raw meat when I am cutting up their meals or preparing food for myself. We also give Zuke's Mini Naturals, various Primal treats (Wholesome Snack for Pets: Primal Treats), and bully sticks.

| Awesome! Thanks! I'll have to see if my local pet store carries it next time I'm there.

Franklin and Maggie LOVE LOVE LOVE the lung puffs (ew, lol) and the chicken nibs. We haven't tried any of the others yet.
