| Acting strange...should I be worried? Need advice....Beau has been acting strange for the last 3 days. Beau is 9 months old and weight about 9 lbs. On Monday night he managed to wrangle his way into the shower with me. Since he was already there and wet, I went ahead and gave him a bath. When he got out he was shaking something terrible. We got him all dried off and in the bed....he went straight under the covers (still shaking) and stayed there all night. He normally has to sleep in his crate because he won't stay on the bed (he like to pilfer around the bedroom). Tuesday -- we go to work as usual and he's calm all day. Eats normal, drinks normal......he's just CALM (Beau, doesn't do calm). He lays on the desk and doesn't chew on anything. He doesn't beg for my lunch. Just calm. Tuesday night he burrows under the covers and sleeps all night. Wednesday -- he stays home with Dad (it's raining) and is a good boy ALL day. Lays around on the desk while Dad works, hangs out in the crate. Wednesday night he's laying on the side of the tub while I bathe and when I get dried off and crawl into bed, he's still laying on the side of the tub. He won't move, it's like he's in a trance or something. I have to go and pick him up to put him on the bed.....he chews on a bully for 10 minutes then burrows under the cover and go to sleep. This is NOT normal behavior for Beau....he's the wild child. He will fetch the ball 100 times if you will throw it and he isn't excited about playing the last few days. He'll go get it 3 or 4 times and then he's done. Do Yorkies calm down all the sudden like this? It's nice, I kinda like calm Beau but I'm worried something is wrong. |

Donating YT 30K Club Member | Was it his first time getting bathed in the shower? Maybe he was sacred by that. If he continues to act strange I would just have the vet do a quick exam. Hope he returns to his normal self soon.

| if he's eating and drinking fine then he's fine. i think because the weather is changing some might get lasier. my dog is acting sleepy and lazy too. so that's normal. don't worry; unless he shows any physical symptoms; like vomiting, diarrhea, fever, not eating or drinking...

| It was his first time getting "completely" in there but he just stood there and looked at me. I'm sure I almost drowned both of us before his bath was done :-). |

| 8 1/2 months old, 9 lbs.....he eats Blue Buffalo puppy. He had blood sugar problems early on but they went away when he started gaining weight. I still have nutrical on hand so maybe I'll try some the next time he's in a "trance". |

| I would have him checked out by a vet. Staring can be a type of seizure, and shaking, a sign of pain. His behavior sounds so much different than his normal...I would be concerned that something may be going on and get it checked asap.... Hope all goes well.
