Not all Yorkie's in life I feel can be "show quality", but their happy loving nature makes up for that perfect coat. This picture was taken two min's after I read your post. Schatzie is sound asleep right next to me. Of course, I had to pick up her hair and watch it stick like you were describing.

| Tia's coat is a lot like that too - I really don't know if it is a puppy thing or what. I'm hoping she'll grow out of it, but we'll see - I'll love her even if she's bald!

| My Newf's coat is just like that too. The hair on the back of his neck sticks straight up. We will comb him and then he looks so good for about 5 minutes and then it looks like he stuck his tongue in a socket or something because it goes all haywire. It is too cute though, no matter how scruffy he looks he is still my sweetie!!!

| Yorkies' skin produces a lot more oil than most other breeds of dog, hence why you think your dog's coat is so oily. Even as soon as one day after having a bath, your yorkie can look "dirty" again. That's b/c of those oils. So have no fear! There's really nothing you can do about it. It's just the way God made them. Only reason show yorkies never look like that is b/c they are bathed daily, especially right before shows.

| But if your yorkie has an oily coat, i guess jut be careful with the conditioners and sprays....i guess by not additing any more oil to the coat will help. |

| Stewie's skin/hair is really dry except on the top of his head, too! I spike it up like a mohawk all the time. I pay special attention to the top of his head when I'm bathing him, but nothing helps!
