| Anal glands can they cause the stomach to feel full? Okay here is the story Paris started scouting alot, so I made a vet appointment as I had to take my other dog in. Sure enough the vet told me they were very full and that we needed to watch them as she is only 7months, and it was bad! I have to say after we left she had a really bad smell. When my husband and I were talking tonight he said that yesterday and this morning she did not want to do her whole walk and we wondered if that had anything to do with it, then he picked her up he said he could not believe how light she felt. He had thought she had gotten a little bulky. So does anyone know if that can happen? I did notice in another post someone said there dog did not want to go for it walks either. Tonight Paris walked like a gem! |

| When their anal glands are impacted, it is very uncomfortable for them, especially if they are walking around. It is like having two walnuts on either side of your anus....not pleasant. I would be making sure that she is getting enough fiber in her diet by checking out the nutritional label on her food. Also when giving her a bath, get a small tub and allow her to sit in it and soak her anal area. The moist wet heat will also help in keeping the anal glands moving. The one thing you do not want is for them to rupture. Andromeda has had two ruptures and it is very painful, and a lot of work to keep clean and heal. Please keep us updated. It will not give them the sensation of a full stomach but it might make them feel bad enough not to eat. Last edited by lil fu fu girl; 08-26-2010 at 08:56 AM. |
