YT Addict | Hazel eats so MUCH ! ! ! i do not want to over feed her, but she eats SOOO much food now. as i've stated before, i feed her the Cesar puppy food in the little white containers. i also mix in hard food. she used to just eat one a day... i just put down her food because i had just the hard stuff out and she didn't touch it. so i put the wet stuff down and its more then half way gone in a matter of minutes... i don't want to over feed her. but i don't want to starve her either! how much is too much? i'm sure if i put down 2 containers she'd eat them both CLEAN. the way she eats its as if its her LAST meal or something! shes a little porker! HELP ! ! ! |

| I would just keep dry food down all day and give her a tiny bit of wet food. My dogs would also eat an entire flat of we food if I allowed

| haha!! I think you need to move on to dry food the wet food must not be filling her up and thats why she always seems hungry. Maybe have a talk to your vet? I know sometimes if a dog always seems hungry it may be because of worms in the intestine.... i might be wrong i am not sure, talk to your vet about it xxx

| Jackson could probably eat 10 of those Cesar containers if I let him, LOL. He loves those things but they are so bad for them, so I only give him one as a 'treat' occasionally with his dinner maybe twice a month. I buy high quality wet food and mix a little bit in with Jackson's dry food and he eats it right up! I also put a tiny bit of water in his bowl and mix the kibble and wet and he devours it.

YT 2000 Club Donating Member | Food stuff She is still a wee pup. So glad to hear your Yorkie has a very good appetite. I can only say monitor the amount of food you are giving her, not too much, not too little. Always err with a pup on the more side of food. I don't know if Casear is a good food or not. I home food my beasties..so not too "up" on the best kibbles and wet food out there. One way to monitor take a look at her weight right now... feed about 10% of her current body weight. Lots of activity... then feed a bit more that day. Remember treats do count on the caloric intake per day. I have a couple of large dogs as well as my Yorkie. And I can tell you our male would eat us out of house n home. 2 Christmases ago he got the turkey off the counter, and was busy chowing down on it before I caught him. Our large female I have to entice to eat. Hard to keep weight on her. Razz is like your Hazel a right little piggy. Nobody is free fed here. I monitor all the time the intake. I don't want fat dogs. But again your wee one is a pup. Err on the side of overfeeding a "bit". In the final analysis, some maybe many doggies are little piggies. They'd eat till the cows come home. Sounds like Hazel maybe one of those.

OH NO!!! i don't want her to be a little piggy wiggie either! as expected she is VERY active. especially when she gets outside into the grass, she turns into a wild child. but i do monitor her food. and i'm trying to finish off that Cesar food. i have her on iams small breed puppy and i think i'm going to switch due to information i got from another thread i started. | |

Donating YT 4000 Club Member | Scarlett scarfs down her food, too. They are going through such a rapid growth period right now, so I wouldn't be too concerned at this point. As long as the food you are giving is of a high quality, I'd let her have as much as she wants. Gemy- the part about your dog stealing the turkeys made me laugh. I had my golden steal a whole chicken right off the barbecue one time. I never did find the metal stand it was on.

| To be safe, I would bring a stool sample into your vet when you take Hazel. That way they can lab test it to make sure she doesn't have any worms or parasites. Sometimes they give you a de-wormer on your first visit just to be on the safe side and then they will request a stool sample later to make sure she is fine.
