| Too little for Rabies shot? Mia is 4.5 months and almost 3 lbs now, but the vet said she is too little for the rabies shot still because she still has all baby teeth. I never heard this before. They told me to keep her away from stranger dogs for another month!!! Has anybody heard this before? |

| Not sure what baby teeth have to do with a rabies vaccine, but the smaller teh dog, the more likely a reaction. If your vet is willing to wait, I'd most definitely take them up on that.

| I have no choice, they would not give her the shot. I could go somewhere else, but she is so tiny, and I don't want to take any chances. What's the difference if she has to stay inside for another month. She sleeps most of the time anyways :-) |

| My youngest pup is 4 months and 2 lbs and my vet also said he wants to wait for the rabies shot to and for me to keep away from other strange dogs also but he didn't say anything about her teeth and she still has one more baby tooth left to come in. He said she is delayed because of her size. Last edited by lynnelily; 08-19-2010 at 10:17 AM. |

| Thanks! She is a WILD cutie pie. And when she is awake she is hyper and never stops playing. I can't wait to take her on regular walks to burn off some of that wild energy. |

| Bri is the same size but older than your baby and we waited until almost 30 weeks before giving rabies. Not sure if you read my thread, but we had a really bad reaction. If your vet is willing to wait, I'd probably wait. In my city it is required that pets have rabies, so not getting it wasn't an option for me. Has she had any reactions to vaccines before?
