| Treats to freshen Yorkie breath? Hi guys, What do you guys feed your yorkies to keep their breath smelling fresh? I'm working on Biggie with brushing his teeth, but he hates it! |

| How old is Biggie? Often times, puppies have retained baby teeth that need to be pulled that causes terrible breath. If that's the case, you can just brush them and then when he gets neutered, he may have to have some pulled if they don't fall out on their own. But I use Petzlife gel for maintenance approx. once or twice a week. Just rub a little gel on both sides and it keeps the teeth clean, and breath fresh. Plus brushing with doggy toothpaste. I'm terrible at that, though, lol. He only gets his teeth brushed once every 2 weeks or so.

| First... to help with the teeth brushing... do you use a brush or your finger... I put a pea size glob on my finger, and make harley sit. He loves the taste (so find one your baby loves the taste of), he really thinks he's getting a treat when I brush his teeth. The first few times, just, let them lick it off your finger. Then I put my other hand behind his head to sturdy him (slowly) while he's licking and I start massaging teeth and gums. presto clean teeth in 10 seconds! For good treats, I feed Z-Rigdge bones alfalfa favored made by Zuke. They are great, and smell kinda minty. I've also used some treat called "Get Naked" or something like that. They were grain free and really good too.

I use a finger brush but it's still too big for his mouth! He hates it he really does haha but he'll eat the toothpaste right off the brush and then snap his mouth shut | |
