| Help! Small Knot After Shots... So, we took Chloe to a new vet for the first time since we've moved to get her one year booster shots. She did great, vet says no problems, etc. But I noticed yesterday that she's got a small knot on her side now. It's maybe the size of a nickel and raised up, but she doesn't act in pain when I touch it and she never gave any indication that she was bothered by the shots. She is still running, jumping and playing just like normal. (Her very first shots as a puppy bothered her a lot and she acted very sore afterwards...would cry out if you even ran your hand along her side.) Is this just a natural reaction to the shots and will it go away soon or should I be calling the vet? Since she doesn't act like it bothers her, I thought I'd give it a few days to go down before getting worried...but I also wanted to ask the experts!! ((On a side note, we love the new vet!! She actually brought up the over-vaccination controversy herself and agrees that we are over-vaccinating these tiny dogs, etc. I was so excited! She also said Chloe's teeth and knees look great!)) Thanks! -C

| My babies always get those little knots. Freaked me a little at first too, but, vet said it was ok and would go away in a few days. It did and everybody is happy again. Don't worry; it'll be ok.

| Bama got one after her last shot and scared me silly. Called the vet and they said that it was probably from the shot. We took her so they could check her anyway. Said to just massage it and it was gone completely in like 2 weeks. |

| look into titers instead of booster shots and she will probably never need a booster again. |

| Tinkerbelle had a big lump after her vaccinations. I called the vet and they said not to worry; it would go away, which it did.

| Ruby had this after her Rabies. I rubbed it every day for her and it went away in about a week. |

| Thanks so much guys!! I knew you'd make me feel better. As far as not having to get boosters anymore, that's my end goal. But Chloe had only had her puppy shots and from what I understood doing research, she needs at least the first year of boosters as well in order to be fully vaccinated. Luckily, our new vet is very supportive of fewer shots for dogs so I don't think it will be an issue for us to only go for check-ups. And we did the 3 year rabies shot, so Chloe won't have to have that one as often either. Hubby and I are so relieved to hear the knot goes away and all is well! Thanks again!! -C

| My Binky aways got fungal tumors at his injection sites. They did NOT go away. He had to have them surgically removed. They were golf ball sized. We learned that two weeks of Pred immediately after the injection would stave off the lumps.
