| Milk & Water for my Puppy Hello everyone Got another question hehe!! Poppy will drink milk like its going out of fashion. My problem is that i want to try and wean her off the milk and onto water.... How do i do this? If i put water down she wont drink it at all and i end up giving her milk because i dont want her to get dehydrated. Any tips anyone can give me please? She is only eating a little bit of food a day because she is drinking so much milk. lol xxx

| You can also start cutting the milk with water, gradually phasing out the milk. If you do this very slowly and gradually, she won't even notice when it's all water That little baby is SO lucky to have you!

Poppy's Mamma ♥ Donating Member | I had the same problem, Poppy would gulp gulp gulp bowl after bowl of milk and not even touch her dinner. The vet told me that because she had already been weaned off her mothers milk I should just be giving her water because it could give her the runs. (I noticed her stools were much better once I took her off the milk.) When I came back from the vets I took the milk straight off her and just gave her water and after a few hours she would drink it properly. If your Poppy wont touch the water at all I think you should take LunasMomma's advice and water down the milk gradually until there is only water in her bowl.

| Thank everyone No she wont touch the water at all so thank you i will deo water down the milk. I also put down her Puppy food that looks like paste next to her milk. This morning i got up and she had poo'd all over her crate. Its wasnt alot because she is only tiny but it was all over her bed and puppy pad and on her little bum. Then today my OH has been at home all day with her and he said she has had two runny poops that he has had to clean up... and clean her up. Is this because of the Milk? She seems fine in her self. xxxxx

| Glad to hear Poppy is doing well! She's a lucky little girl to have you. Did you report the breeder? What did they say at the RSPCA?
