| Rabies: What you should know Research has shown that Rabies has doubled this year in the animal population, so I thought that it would be a good idea to post some information for the YT family. Quote:

| Thanks for sharing. I live in the DC area and during the past few years we've seen an increase in the number of wild animals with rabies (or at least, an increase in the number identified).

The scary thing is you are spot on...these are only the cases that they have identified. Makes you wonder how many infected animals are truly out there?

YorkieTalk Newbie! | Thank you for this info! I hate when it is time for my babies to get the shot b/c of the reactions. I do realize that it is much better for them to suffer for a day or two than get rabbies. Is there anything that can be given to them before so that they wont suffer so bad after?

My vet prescribes steroids for my two little ones to take an hour before shots. This has stoped the adverse reaction that they can exhibit after vaccinations.

| Thank you for sharing that great info. We back up to a forest which is loaded with all types of critters so the more info we have, the better and smarter we will be. |
