| Spayed dog in heat! 2weeks ago I drove 7 hours to pick up my 2nd yorkie rescue. Their vet was unsure if she had been fixed or not, so he did an ultrasound and gave the all-clear...... I rescue dogs-I've no clue here-will I be able to get her fixed while she is in heat? At least now I know why my yorkie boy is sooo interested in her! |

| I think they will have you wait until the heat is over to spay her. I guess you can't even trust the vets anymore huh?!! They are probably desperate for a foster home in these times and didn't want to tell you that she hadn't been fixed. But most legitimate & responsible rescues have relationships with vets that will do spay & neuters at deeply discounted prices, obviously this rescue doesn't. Good Luck with her, hopefully your male is fixed??? Right???

| I have 3 puppy mill rescues that are mine and 1foster. I have zero experience with this! And for the 1st time I'm off to buy diapers or whatever for my sweet new furby. |

| Neither do I but have read other experiences on YT and they were about altered dogs trying to tie. Make sure that you do not leave her with your males while you are not home or able to constantly supervise them at all times. I'm so sorry that this is happening. Is she bleeding that much? How big is she? I have a few diapers that I could send you if you would like them. Pebbles is around 11 lbs so she is a big girl. I bought them not for heats but for a peeing in the house problem that we have since cured. They have never been used.

| Thanks for the offer, but Trina is only 4 lbs. And not bleeding hardly at all. I just got freaked out. |

| I was hoping you would say you freaked out~ From my understanding they do not bleed that much while in heat but I could totally understand the freak

Donating YT 30K Club Member | I agree I would keep her away from your male even if he is fixed. I had to have one of mine spayed during her heat due to other complications and it was a much bigger incision and a harder recovery. It also was done by a board certified surgeon at a big ER center, so it was very costly. So I would wait if at all possible.
