| I also have a picky eater, so is what I do wrong? I got Lucy when she was a year old. She has always been a picky eater, but looks so pityful when we are eating and will take any type of meat that I offer. So I just started buying chicken ,boiling it and putting it in plastic bags, freezing it and thawing as needed. My only problem is I am afraid she is not getting enough nutrients. I put it on top of a good dry food thinking she will eat both, but nooooo, she stops right when she gets to the dry food. She doesn't even like doggy treats! Should I be doing something different? |

| Well ~ probably just chicken is not the balanced diet you are looking for. But I know how it is when you have a picky eater. You just have to keep trying things. The thing about boiled chicken is that they can pick around it and avoid their kibble. Sometimes I grind Lucy's kibble up into almost a powder and mix it with some canned. That way, she really has no choice but to eat the kibble and she does, with no problem. Have you tried mixing some canned with the dry? It covers better than chicken and mixes better; you could try grinding the kibble as well. Maybe a different kibble? Also try plain yogurt; cottage cheese, green beans; or cooked carrots mixed with your kibble. Keep trying! You will find something she likes.

| Thanks so mucy for your reply, Ringo1. Very good advice. I will definately continue to try other things, especially for the nutrition. Is there a specific brand that your babies like more than others? By the way, when I look at my posts, I don't see Lucy's picture next to "LovinLucy". Do you see it? |

| Hey, I don't see Lucy's picture under your name. Did you download a profile picture? I'm not too good at it. Nancy did my Avatar for me. To answer your kibble question; there is no kibble that my Lucy is crazy about. Probably she like Purina puppy chow most of all! But she does have mild liver issues; so I have to be careful with protein content. She gets Natural Balance Vegetarian in the am (mixed with peas and carrots for now) and Wellness Limited Ingredient in the pm (mixed with some canned Wellness chicken). I'm not sure I would recommend either one of these unless your baby has allergies or liver problems. But I'm sure there are some active threads on here right now about what is the best food! Check it out. I'm pretty limited on what I can feed my Lucy but you probably are not!
