| To anyone who has ever fed raw or homecooked and stopped..in here please We are talking about raw and homecooked in Yorkiepuppie's thread and it has me curious. Some people start to feed raw and homecooked and then stop. So would you tell us what exactly you were feeding and why you stopped? If you are still feeding it and love it, this wouldn't really apply. I want to see how many YT'ers have tried these diets and it just didn't work out for them (for whatever reason). This isn't meant to resemble anything scientific, I just think it would be nice to see how many doggies don't thrive on these diets...

| I fed Zhoie Primal Raw when she was about 1 yr 3 mos. She ate is well, but she was never able to overcome the belching, extremely bad. During the time of eating (belching) she didn't seem to feel well. Didn't look good in the face, if you know what I mean. I watch my girls eyes and I can tell if she feels good or not.

We are on home cooked again 100%. My individual dogs thrive and do far better on home cooked than on pet food so it is the right choice for us. And, it really is not that bad spending weekends roasting chickens and stuffing ice cube trays and having no room in my freezer or fridge for my own food. They are worth it. Plus, I really do love chinese food and am happy with those containers.

| I tried Layla on NV raw for about a week. It is actually still in my freezer- i should probably throw it out. Anyways- we stopped because Layla woudln't eat it. Layla has never been big on food- she doesn't eat on a schedule and with raw it couldn't sit on the floor or in the fridge until she was ready. When she finally did want to eat she wouldn't even touch it. I dont' think she liked that it was cold. Also it was SO hard to travel and feed raw. So we gave up on that. |

| I currently feed a local brand called OC Raw. My dogs love it. Their coat stays nice and they have less doggie smell. I did at one point go back to canned because it is easier but then then started to get tarter build up so I went back to raw. It is harder to deal with but it is worth it. I have also tried Steve's.. smells bad and my dogs would not eat it. Nature Variety they liked but expensive and then I read all that stuff about them. And we have used Stella and Chewy's.. good food, dogs love it but more expensive than local brand, but they also have freezed dried made of the same ingrediants for when you travel so I do give this from time to time so they will be used to it when i need it. |
