| Primal Raw I got the starter pak of Primal Raw yesterday. I offered some to my baby when I got home, and while she gave it a fair smell, she didn't eat it. It wasn't near the disgusted look like I got with the NV raw, so I put it in the fridge to thaw overnight hoping she'd try it later. I gave her the chicken flavor nugget this morning with her salmon oil, AND SHE ATE IT!! Yay for Primal!! Keeping my fingers crossed that she'll continue eating it. |

| You're supposed to thaw it, before feeding it...I thaw out just enough for the next day, for my kidz...Apple doesn't mind it cold, but Buzz starts chattering his lips, so I put it under a light to take the chill off...I don't microwave it, because I "don't" microwave...I think it alters the structure of the food, and defeats the purpose of feeding raw...Back to Buzz, it was kinda humorous, to watch his little lips quiver, after he ate the really cold raw...He looked up at me w/such a pitiful look...When he does that, I call him Mr. Pitiful lol...So I don't give it to him really cold anymore... |

| aww poor buzz had cold lips. LOL That is too funny. I didn't give her the whole frozen nugget...just shaved off the softer edges. I've heard not to microwave since it defeats the purpose of feeding raw so I just stuck some in the fridge to thaw overnight. What are their favorite flavors? I'm almost scared to try anything past the chx since she actually ate it. Last edited by AMD; 07-06-2010 at 02:59 PM. |

What different products are you looking for? There are other brands such as Stella & Chewy's if that's what you're interested in.

I don't see an age too young to feed raw.

| Ya' know, they gobble up all the raw so fast I wouldn't know which one they like better? I think I like Primal, better, but S&C's uses that HPP process, and w/the NV recall, I like that...But, I think NV uses the HPP process now, on all their proteins..Primal & S&C's have never had recalls. |

| I've let my puppies eat raw and if they can chew the bone, I let them . Mostly they don't until they are a little bit older - maybe 10 weeks. Some of them really like it and others aren't so interested - in the bones I mean. |

| WE do Primal. I rotate Lamb, Beef, Venison and Duck. I want to try rabbit. I made a huge mistake of feeding only chicken and now Piper is allergic I was UNINFORMED! Lamb is the favorite in our house. They dance for it!! I was getting the nuggets ..but then found the 8 ounce patty easier to use. When i get home i put two in a zip lock. then to the freezer. When i finish one bag I pick another one out of the freezer for the next time. its is thawed by the time i need it. I am so so sad my pet store went out of biz. I am not sure where i will get it now.. but I bought all she had in her freezer .. so it gives me about 2 months to get another supplier Things I love about RAW: 1. SMALLER poops 2. easy to feed 3. they eat in like 30 seconds. 4. no more scratchin..hair falling out noooooooooo grains!!! |

| Thanks Lisa! I'm so sorry about Piper's allergies. I rotate her kibble with different protein sources not only for allergy reasons but also because it keeps her excited. I'm hoping she'll eat more than chicken of the raw so I can rotate flavors as well. I am excited she's liking it so far and I'm definitely looking forward to small poops! I posted a link a few posts up where you can search for other pet stores in your area that carry Primal. How sad your pet store went out of business. |

I've started with one nugged daily, about half of the feeding instructions; so she still munches on kibble in the evening.
