New yorkie puppy doesn't like Iams ... So I got a new yorkie puppy friday she is 9 weeks and although the breeder had her on Iams smart puppy food she doesn't seem to like it so much. She eats it but eats our Mastiff/Pitbull mixes food more..lol she also will try to eat the cats food? lol..dunno if thats normal or not..but my guess is its because she doesn't like her own so much. Any suggestions on any store brand food that your yorkies liked best as puppys would be great thanks I will post pics of her later!

Might I suggest not feeding Iams at all? Not very healthy for the little ones. This thread http://www.yorkietalk.com/forums/yor...e-samples.html has a list of good food for your pup. I feed mine Wellness and have one tried Blue Buffalo. We went through about 6-7 different kinds of dog food before settling on one that Hammer actually enjoyed.

| Your pup is smart! Iams, in my opinion, is not a good food. There's quite a few higher quality foods. If you're looking to shop at Petsmart or Petco... Wellness, By Nature, Blue Buffalo, Halo, are a few to choose from. If you're willing to go to a specialty store, I really like Orijen (they have a puppy formula), Acana, Nature's Variety, Fromm. Good luck in your search. It took us a while. For now we have settled on Acana Grasslands and Go! Endurance, both grain-free. He does very well on both!

Im a new puppy owner myself... I've learned a lot in such little time. Searching for the right food has been a challenge but we have found that the best food for our yorkie Spike is Blue Buffalo, lamb being the one we chose for him since they are able to digest it better. Good luck. Don't forget to buy your yorkie Nutri-Cal.

Thank you all for your help I am going to let her finish the bag she has and go with either wellness or Royal Canine We will see! Both seem to be big choices amoung yorkie owners.
