my 2 year old yorkie won't eat! tips!? my 5.5 lb yorkie will barely eat! she hardly eats over the course of a few days. i have tried mixing dry food (Royal Canin) with healthy wet food (Beneful, Cesar, Science Diet) and sometimes adding a little bit of broth for taste and warmth, and she will always sniff it out but then walk away. she will approach the dish of food multiple times as if interested but will hardly eat any or none at all. she is energetic and healthy in all other aspects but this eating habit worries me as i feel she is sooo skinny! any tips would be greatly appreciated.

Have you always fed her type of food? Maybe she isn't a fan and wants something else? Just remember, you dog won't starve herself. She will eventually eat. Could it be she is snacking on too many other things during the day?

| That is not always true, so please be careful. Depends on why your dog is not eating. If she is being picky, I think eventually she will eat. I did go through this myself, thought my girl was being picky, turns out she was severely ill. If she is healthy and happy in every other aspect, then maybe she is just picky. But if you notice she is losing weight, is depressed or listless, please see your vet right away.

If she has been on Royal Canin all this time; maybe a food switch is in order to see if you can find one she likes better. My Lucy is a picky eater too; we've switched too many times to count! Sometimes if I put her food in a 'people bowl' instead of her bowl . . she will eat OR on a paper plate. Sure fire way to get her to eat is to let my Westie have a bite of her food . . . she'll then immediately finish every last bite.

that happened to my 3 months old yorkie ytd & today. she is usually super excited when food is presented but for some reason it stopped. i would have to put the bowl down for 10-15 minutes before she would eat it. and today she wouldn't eat it at all, thats when i fed her food to her by hand. it worked.
