| Exocrine Pancreatic Insufficiency (where to purchase enzymes) I need a "reputable" supplier of Viokase or a trusted generic. Powder or tablet is fine. I will not go the butcher route... I'm looking for the cheapest place that can be totally trusted. Wasn't there a group (on Yahoo maybe?) that got a deal on it or something? I don't have a problem getting a shipped from Canada as long as it is legitimate. Thank you.

| Thank you. That is it. But we don't have a confirmed diagnosis by TLI, so I can't join.

May not be EPI (probably not if she is having pancreatitis still). Could be malabsorbtion of unknown cause.

| usually they get epi from getting pancreatitis too many times though as that along with diabetes are the big concern in not getting pancreatitis under control |

| Thought she may have developed EPI, but after watching her yesterday and it looking like pancreatitis, I think it's less likely EPI now. Would like to be able to lower the fat in her diet, etc., but it is only at 1% now.

epi they usually have greasy poops from what i have read - is that what you have read as well? Are you on the pancreatitis group on yahoo? Are you on any nutrition yahoogroups? I know you trust this nuritionist but never hurts to get a couple other opinions from some other nutritionists as well. | |

| Yes, that is what I have read, but they don't all have the same symptoms. No, I did not join the pancreatitis group, but will look into it. No, on the nutrition group. Ellie 'snutritionist manages critically ill patients at Angell. Ellie has done well on the diets, but then something gets thrown off. This time it may not be setting well b/c it is so high in carbs, etc. Sweet potato goes really well as her carb, but it isn't calorically dense enough. She was losing too much weight. With 3 or 4 problems to try and manage with diet, I think this nutritionist is the best fit for us. There is no easy answer here and it is trial and error. I don't want one or two other opinions b/c then there will be competing views on how to manage her nutrition and I'm not going to change things around at their recommendation anyway. Too many cooks in the kitchen so to speak.
