| Excessive panting? Okay, quick question. My Hammer seems to pant, A LOT. He doesn't seem hot.. (we have central air that runs constantly.. its usually about 65-70 in here at all times.) He seems to drink enough water. he will be laying on the bed, your petting him and he is constantly panting. Do dogs pant when they are happy? Or is something wrong? |

| No they don't that much, but when do you notice it happening more. You said when your in bed, does that mean it is happening in the evening? if so does it last during the night and does he sleep well?

| Mine only pant when they are hot or after they have been running and playing a lot. Does his nose seem to be stuffy? I don't know what would make your baby be panting a lot. Have you contacted your vet? I think I would, just for peace of mind.

| It doesnt happen during the night at all, he sleeps great. I get worried and wake up a lot to check on him. He plays with himself, a lot , so maybe he is just tiring himself out? It also happens when he gets excited it seems like. It happens more in the even then at night. Like right now.. (9 :30 ish..) he is fine.. he has been playing and no panting. Also, he has a TON more hair than he used to... could his hair be making him hot? |
