| How long do I wait before having his baby teeth pulled? Rocco is almost 6 months old and has lost all of his teeth (I think), except for his canines. Yesterday I noticed his adult canines breaking through on the bottom, INSIDE of his baby canines. How long should I give the baby canines to fall out before having them pulled? I felt them and they don't feel loose at all. I hadn't planned on having him neutered for another month or two, but won't his bite be messed up by then if the baby canines don't fall out?

| Jackson's canines weren't out by 6 1/2 months and he was almost 7 months when he got neutered and got 4 teeth pulled. There was probably no way they were coming out on their own, and his adult teeth were growing in as well. One bottom adult canine tooth is slightly crooked now because of the way the baby tooth that was still there -- but it's never caused any issues.

| If you are planning on doing Rocco's neuter in the next few months I don't see any reason to worry. Bogey is from a shelter and had a retained canine tooth that was removed during his neuter and he was over a year old. Other then having stinky breath when I first brought him home his bite is perfect. Pebbles had her spay and they removed 2 teeth. I was expecting her to have one retained tooth (canine) removed and just happened to notice the day she was going in that she had a retained front tooth. She has a gap right in the front but to tell you the truth no one except me even could tell.

| Baby teeth My babies teeth were pulled when she was spayed at almost 8 months. The vet only wanted to put her to sleep once because she was only 3 lbs, so we did it all together. At that point, I started to notice she was gaining another row of teeth and knew it was time. I have 13 little puppy teeth in a bag Yes, the tooth fairy came to visit her!!! Good luck! |

| Ok, I feel a little better now - thanks for all of the replies! I'll just wait it out on his teeth until he's neutered, maybe they'll come out by then...meanwhile, lots of chews and tug-of-war games (which are usually off limits ) in Rocco's near future!

| They're OUT! Yay! All of the baby teeth are out, which means no pulling during his neuter surgery! All I could think of was my poor baby in pain at BOTH ends . THANK YOU Himalayan chews and bully sticks!!!
