| Question 2056: Fleas AND heartworms?!?! Revolution or no? i've noticed that most prevention medication for fleas and heartworms comes separately, but pfizer has a product called REVOLUTION that treats both in one monthly dose. does anyone use this product? any feedback? thanks!! |

| We don't use Revolution and I've heard enough about it to know that I would never trust it to prevent heartworms. Sentinel is good. It makes fleas unable to reproduce, but it does not kill the adults.

| I prefer to use two separate products but thats just a personal preference.. I use interceptor for heartworm and frontline for fleas... this also allows me to stop the flea meds in the winter when they arent really necessary and still continue with the heartworm meds.

| I just know of enough vets/vet offices saying they getting positive heartworm tests on pups who take this drug. It just isn't not nearly as effective as Heartgard or Interceptor/Sentinel (IMO). There may be a higher reaction rate too, but I have not been able to confirm that...

| Rio takes Sentinel and does fine with it. I like it because it has doses specific to the dog's weight. |

| Levi takes Sentinel for heartworm prevention and Frontline Plus for flea and tick prevention. I like both products and he does well with them. Each is a once a month dose. |

| Prince uses Revolution, and we are really happy with it. Because Prince is so sensitive to a lot of meds, and the fact that he is indoors 99% of the time, it is a good fit for him. We have tried almost all of them and have had negative effects. Remember every dog is different. Get what works for yours.
