| wet fur after vacconation? Bella had shots today, and I noticed that on the way home, her fur was wet at the injection site. no blood, just wet. has anyone else had this happen? I just wondering if the vet didnt get the meds in correctly, or does some seep out on its own???

| The hair could be damp from the vet swabbing/cleaning the injection site before administering the vaccination. The other possibility is that Bella licked the site. |

| well it did not have a smell..and believe it or not my vet has never used anything on the injection site before the shot, she just gives it..this in not the first time I have noticed the fur being wet after a shot, this happened with one of my bichons after a shot as well.(same vet). have any of you ever given the shots your self? what are you thought on that. I have herd of people doing this, they just buy the shots and give them themselves, but never knew anyone personally that has done this.

| Once when Libby was getting a shot, the vet actually missed somehow and it went all over Libby. The vet (wasn't my regular) didn't even notice it so I told her and she agreed that Libby hadn't gotten much of it, and did another. It was an antibiotic shot. That also happened with my BIL's dog once...the vet tech totally missed and it ran down the dog onto the floor. Other shots my dogs have gotten, I've never noticed a wet spot on them.

| the spot was not real big.I say about the size of a quarter but it was wet. Im just wondering if the vet tech could have poked the needle through the other side of the skin while pushing the vaccine in....Bella did let out a whine, but then again she does that sometimes.. if so she still should have gotten most of the vaccine in her don't you think, if the wet spot was only about the size of a quarter?
