| um, gross mucusy thing from Katie's rosebud I noticed it when I took her out to pee. It was bright and sunny out and the sunlight on it caught my eye. I looked down there and it was like a thin string of snot, clear, with a tinge of green, but it could have been green reflected from the very green lawn. Gross I know. sorry. Do I need to call her vet or does this happen? It wasn't pee hanging from her hair bc I picked up her back legs and tried to shake it off and it just stayed there swinging away. Once I brought her back inside and got a napkin it had either fallen off, or stuck to her hair.

| here is some info Vaginal Discharge in Dogs if it is vaginitis that is usually if they have a uti for a while then it turns into vaginitis so have you noticed any difference in pee pattern like peeing more often? how old is she? Is she spay? Last edited by dwerten; 05-12-2010 at 05:57 PM. |

| From reading what dwerten posted, I think I would get in her to see a vet - just to be on the safe side. Good luck. I hope its nothing and that she is fine.

With vaginitis a dog can sometimes rub their vulva alot on things I was worried about dd having a uti turned out she did not it was just allergies as she was rubbing her vulva on stuff and agitated - no discharge though but i took her to ims as it was on weekend and i asked her about vaginitis and she said no way that is only if you let a uti go too long If i were you i would do a urine catch off back of wee wee pad first thing in am tomorrow and take it to vet. Do the first pee of the morning because it is urine that has been sitting in bladder all night long so it will be a good sample for lab. I prefer this over a needle in bladder even though that is a more sterile sample - It would be too hard for her to hold it until you get her in first thing for sterile sample plus i do not like the idea of needle in bladder personally my opinion on that go to cvs ask pharmacist for sterile syringe and sterile bottle. Pick up urine then put in fridge immediately after to preserve. Then take to vet when the office opens. I would have them do urinalysis and culture. It will be more expensive to do both but you will get more definite answers this way of what is going on and what antibiotics will work Also if anymore discharge comes out put that in a separate container and put in fridge to preserve as well all urine and fecal should be preserved in fridge that is what vets do too before sending to lab Last edited by dwerten; 05-12-2010 at 06:05 PM. | |

Since she is a foster, I have to get the ok from my state director to bring her into the vet first, so that is my next step to contact her tomorrow. From reading the links, it doesn't seem for her to have vaginitis. She goes pee about 5x in the day, about 2 or 3x once we get home. I'm also counting her markings as pee, which I know they are two different things. I have only noticed the muscus once today. If you remember she had bladderstones and had the surgery in beginning of March.

| Ok thanks very much. Like I said, I will have to run it by the state director first, but I will call her in the am.
