Yorkie Yakker | Yorkie Skin Irritation Hi Everyone, My 2.5 yr old boy Tobias, had a tiny bump on his rt shoulder area, that has grown over the last 2-3 months into a pimple-like mass. It's still small but more raised I just want to pop it, hahaha. I actually kind of pinched it a lil and it looked like a pinlike spec of blood was starting to surface so I just stopped fussing with it. Does anyone know what this is or have any recommendations as to what to do? Help, thanks

| It could be an ingrown hair, a clogged pore, or any number of things. The danger lies in forcing whatever's inside further inside (not where you want it to be) so warm compresses may be a better choice than pinching or squeezing. I would be leary though of something growing in size, as it could abcess and your dog may need to go on antibiotics. So, might be best to have your vet look at it.

Yorkie Yakker | Grreat, I definitely irritated it. It wasn't discolored before, just a flesh toned bump, but now it's kinda pink. I guess we're going to the vet if the warm compress doesn't wk. Can I put Hydrogen peroxide on it to clean it first?

| You can also put a wet, warm Chamomile tea bag on it as well until you see the vet.

| It sounds like what my Cocker Spaniel had. He had a bunch of them all over his back....some were bigger than others. The Vet said they were warts and to remove them would be cosmetic. I hope your baby only gets just this one...my dog had so many I knew they had to be uncomfortable for him.

Furbutts = LOVE Donating Member Moderator | These can be so many things: Causes of Solid-Appearing Lumps & Bumps on the Skin of Dogs Definitely do not pop/squeeze things, you can cause major infections, depending upon what it is you're squeezing.

| Yes, that would be fine. Rinse afterwards, though.
