| No Pumpkin anywhere ....my puppy and his mom both has runny stools today. I suspect the reason is they got into some leftover meat they shouldn't have eaten. The problem is that there is a shortage on pumpkin and I can't find any! Does anyone know if sweet potatoe will work as a substitute. I did get baby rice cereal for tonight. Thanks.

| I don't know if sweet potato works as a tummy aid replacement for pumpkin, but they do love it and I think it is good for them. My girls go nuts over it, but don't be surprised at the color of the poo, it will be orange. Boiled chicken and rice is good, but cook the rice very soft so it isn't abrasive to their digestive tracts.

| Apple works just as well because they have pectin. Mine will only eat Fuji. |

| Thanks!!! I did get a sweet potato and baby rice cereal for tonight. I haven't seen anymore runny stools for now. I am praying that they will turn around before morning. Interestingly, they are both still playing and drinking plenty of water, so they don't appear to feel bad.

| I heard Trade joes was not affected by the floods which wiped out the pumpkins. You may want to try there. If you do get your hands on some, just keep it in your pantry. If you do open up a can, save the rest by scooping them out in a small spoon or melonballer and stick them in the fridge for the future. That way you don't have to waste any.

| Try looking for Organic Pumpkin. That is what I found easily. The regular pumpkin was all gone but the organic was still in the organic isle. It is usually in the Organic Foods isle of the store. Or go to an organic grocery store. Or check at your pet store near by that carries healthy pet foods. I know my healthy pet store near me has it on the shelf. I found some for my pups last week. Froze the remaining in 1T portion(3/4 can) in ice tray then put in freezer bags to have for later..
