| Mushy number 2?!? My pups poop (sorry!) used to be nice and firm in the beginning. We fed Royal Canin. Well that made him itch so we switched. First to Eukanuba (eww) and now we are on Nutro Ultra. Since we have switched it seems to be getting wetter and wetter. I feel terrible if we have to switch his food again. Is it bad that it would be the fourth different food in 7 months?! Also, he was just neutered on friday of last week, could this be why its more moist than ever?! This might be TMI , but it makes a noise when it comes out which is gross! We are having to wipe his butt after each time, even after cutting his hair. Any suggestions?!?! Clean up is getting harder and harder! |

| Have you googled Nutro? It's known to have caused severe illness & even death in many pets. There's a sticky at the top of the Health & Diet forum that grades dog foods, and there are several good websites that analyze and discuss the ingredients. Some of the foods I like are Acana, Orijen, Nature's Variety, Innova, Wellness...... there are so many I can't name them all. You just need to find one that your baby likes and that you feel good about feeding. When you're switching to a new food, make the change slowly. Transitioning to fast can cause stomach upset. Good luck!

| you may be switching the food to fast and giving him the runny poops. You really need to research the food you're feeding him. All those brands are not the best and the ones Bonny suggested above would work so much better.

| OH NO! I had NO idea. My boyfriend and I did the grading chart listed in a thread and we got a 100. We assumed it was good. A fellow YT'er is sending me a sample of Lifes Abundance so maybe we'll try that instead. Looks like we'll be switching again. He wont be happy! |

Most of the foods I mentioned aren't sold at Petsmart or Petco. If you prefer to shop at those stores, Petco does carry Wellness and Petsmart carries a brand called Blue Buffalo (I've never fed this one). You can find most of the others at your local feed/ag supply stores or in pet specialty/boutique stores. Oh, and I've read where several members feed Life's Abundance and are very happy with it. I hope your baby likes it!

| I forgot to mention, that Hammer thinks its fun to sneak a few nibbles of my roommates Shnauzer's food.. (she feeds like Iams, Purina and Sams Club brand.. AHHH). We yell at him and he just thinks its funny to get a few bites. I don't prefer to shop at those stores and just a few days ago, I found a store owned locally that sells only top quality food .. (like Wellness, Natures Variety, etc). So we are excited to see if she has some of the brands you mentioned. |
