| Hepto Support & Vetri DMG drops? Does anyone use these supplements for your dogs? I just got them in and gave my two their first dose last night and they havent been the same since... Armani is eating regularly, Chloe is not eating much at all, I have gotten kibbles into her but not a lot... plus they are both being very very lazy, just laying around mostly which is NOT normal for them at all. Their gums are fine, they are peeing/pooping as usual, if I get up they do follow as usual. The only change has been this medicine, so I am guessing the change is from it... has anyone else noticed this medicine effect their dogs this way? I dont know if I should give it to them again tonight or not

| Havent used it for my MVD dog so no first hand experience but if anything made mine lethargic, I'd discontinue. What is the supplement supposed to do? I've heard of Hepagen C and Marin and plain old silymarin (milk thistle) for MVD dogs but not up on Hepatosupport.

These two supplements were recommended as a replacement for that. The Hepato Support has milk thistle in it. Im actually not sure what the ingredients of the other one do. I am thinking of trying the Hepato Support on its own once and see if that makes a difference, because that is the one that seems the most important.

| I use Denosyl, so no experience with Ellie. I had thought about switching to Vetri though. I guess I'll hold off on that til you update us on your kiddos. I think TLC has used both and her furkids did fine, so hopefully she will be alone. The Vetri DMG is supposed to be the precursor to SAMe (Denosyl), so some replace the Denosyl with it. I have found zero actual research about its effective when doing this...just one paragraph and I think this site was selling it. Ellie's internist had never heard of the Vetri. The Hepatosupport is supposed to be a great product. Maybe try to give them separately and see? If it happens again or the symptoms get any worse, I probably wouldn't try either again though personally. You can get milk thistle from a vitamin store and give it with vitamin e instead. Lots of vets recommend Marin, but there is a small amount of yeast and liver in it, so it should robably be avoided in severe cases. I don't like the products flavored with meat. I just like the pills that have as few ingredients as possible (aka not so many allergens, etc.). If you don't mind giving products flavored with meat, then Nutramax offers ab chewable version of Denosyl. I think they can eat right after too. Since your pups are asymptomatic (if I remember right) and you probably don't have to give anything at all, then giving just one of these could be way more than enough. I don't know which one is better for them if just picking one, but I like the idea of SAMe, so that's what I use...
