| Thanks ladies, Cathy that's what I thought as well. He started the friday morning which I got him Thursday Night. We thought it was a fluke not really doing it then he tried on the little 7w old female we have(Different litters) but the wrong end and then this morning he tried on DH's chest while chewing on his ear. I hope this isn't a sign of him always wanting to hump things |

| Hi, well I have had litters of puppys before,,and lol I have seen them do this,,I guess it is development of hormones, Im not trying to be nosy, But do you know why the breeder would let the puppy go so young, they should not bee taken away from their momma untill at least 10 to 12 weeks. usually at 7 weeks their barely weened, and they have soooo much more to learn from their momma, she teaches them to play, all kinds of important things in like the 8, 9, 10th weeks.

| Charmed i'm not sure most of them around here was 7-10 weeks both of these came from different breeders and my male was born 3-10-10 and my MIL's Female was born 3-11-10 we didn't know any better until after we got them but they were both weaned from the mom, The mom and pups wasn't even in the same pen.We went to several different breeders around us(within 2 1/2 hrs) and all was about the same said mama weaned and they take pups from her. There ages were between 7 w and 9 w. I'll take any help/advice as these are the first Yorkie's we owned. They sleep with us(mine with me and MIL's with her) and they do pretty well waking us to tell us they have to potty. |

Your little boy humping at this age is not unusual. Some start even earlier. It's not harmonal, but a discovery thing. Kind of like babies when they discover their fingers and toes. But, what this behavior does at this young age is aid in their testicles to drop. So, at this young age, don't put too much tought into it. It's natural canine behavior in pups.
