| constant hacking noise Hey Everyone - My newest fur baby, zina is six months old and I have noticed that she makes this hacking noise all the time. almost like she has something caught in her throat and she is trying to cough it up. Whenever she lays down for a nap and when she gets up first thing in the morning is when it is the worst. I have taken her to the vet but unfortunately, she didn't make the hacking noise in order for the vet to hear exactly what it sounds like. She seems to have a hard time getting comfortable when she lays down because of this. Has anyone ever experienced this? Or does anyone have any suggestions? It has gotten a little more constant over the past week and I will probably take her back to the vet.

Donating YT 4000 Club Member | Is this something that just started recently? Rhett started doing it a few days ago. Turns out he has an aspiration pneumonia He's going to be on antibiotics for the next 2 weeks. Can you video tape her doing it so the vet can see? I hope you get it solved and your baby starts feeling better soon. |

| Sounds like kennel cough to me! Jackson had this last year and got put on a 7 day antibiotic and it cleared up. It's pretty common especially if your dog is/has been around other dogs.

| Check out this link which might help you to recognize kennel cough vs reverse sneezing or collapsed trachea: http://www.yorkietalk.com/forums/yor...d-trachea.html One of my pups has reverse sneezing which sounds somewhat like your dog, only it's more of a honking sound to me than hacking.
