| Can u tell me when your smaller yorkies stopped growing? Hi Everyone, Gigi is now 6 and a half months and 3.5 pounds. I was expecting her to be a little bigger. Do they typically stop growing at 6 months if they are this little? I would like her to get a little larger, but she is very healthy, thank goodness! |

If I remember, correctly, Apple was about 4.0 pounds @ 6 months, and she's 5 pounds, now @ a year and a half...So your baby might end up around 4 1/2 pounds, maybe just 4...I don't think they grow any taller or longer, after about 6 months, just seem to fill out a little bit...And maybe their bones get a little denser, so they weigh more? Buzz was just under 4 lbs. @ 4 months, and I think he's, probably close to 6 lbs. now @ 9 months, and I don't think he'll get any bigger... | |

| We're taking Emily for her first vet visit on Monday - so while she's there, I'm going to ask our favorite tech to just weigh Morgan. Morgan was 3.4 lbs at 10 weeks and the last time she was at the vet she was 7.3 lbs at 5 1/2 months. I think she's between 9 and 10 lbs now at almost 7 months. She hasn't gotten longer or taller, just filled out.

| I thought they were still considered puppies (growing inside) until 2 years old....maybe not getting bigger though, after how many months?????

| I think they all grow differently, depending on the lines they come from. My Yorkie stopped "growing" around one year, but she filled out from one year to 3 years by adding 1/2 lb.

| Wrigley was about the same size of your Gigi at that age and she's now a little over 6lbs. She actually had her big growth spurt between 9-12 months. It can vary greatly!

| I doubt she has stopped growing yet. And yes she can still do a little growing after a year of age. |

| Bailey weighed 3 1/2 lbs at 8 months, and at 12.5 months he still weighs about the same.

| Mine didn't stop growing - at all! LOL! My girl was 1 pd 10 oz @ 10 weeks old - she's 6 pds @ 4 yrs old now. Her sizes didn't change for a couple of years but I just tried on an outfit that fit her 6 months ago and it was snug! My boy was 3.5 @ 13 wks old and is 11 pds @ 3 yrs old. He's been the same sizes for about a year. Mind you he came from totally "standard" lines so he just happens to be "special". They're all different and it mainly depends on their lines and if you feed them "Miracle Grow"! LOL!
