| Royal Canin Vs. Acana I currently feed my yorkies Science Diet but have been noticing that her itchy skin is probably not from shampoos or fleas as though I thought, so I want to change their food. My babies aren't picky eaters at all and Im sure when I switch they will be fine with it...Question is... RC or Acana? I heard RC is also corn based, does anyone have any suggestions? Thanks

| Acana ALL the way!! In my opinion, you're getting MUCH better ingredients for probably less money, or equal. I've noticed the RC foods in the Petsmarts, etc, seem to be so expensive and they're tiny little bags. I buy a 5.5lb bag of Acana Prairie Harvest for around $14 here. I prefer to feed Jackson a food that's grain-free and with more meat content, no corn, soy, wheat, byproducts or other fillers. He also prefers it. Other foods I'd suggest are Fromm, Merrick's Before Grain, Nature's Variety Instinct, Orijen, etc.

| Grain-free knibble Hiya... Since where there is not very much choice on knibble and everyone focuses on the advertised brands such as Royal Canine and Eukanuba.. I had to do lots of research in the area and discovered this brand - Nutram (a Canadian brand).. This is what Samy eats and he loves it.. absolutely grain free, really nice ingredients - human grade ingredients and what is also very important - not expensive at all.. much cheaper than Royal Canine ... look it up on google for ingredients... it sounds like something i would eat Nutram Nutram has a great line-up of canine diets that include grain-free formulas. They use human-grade, top quality ingredients. The No Corn, No Wheat formula by Nutram is technically not a grain free diet, but the absence of the most common grain allergens of corn and wheat achieve the same effects on the health of a dog as a grain-free food. Nutram formulas tend to be cheaper than other grain-free dog foods on the market, but are still high quality. This company also makes a full line of grain-free diets for small dogs.

| I definitely recommend Acana over RC. Sasha is currently eating this brand in the Grasslands flavor. I usually add about a forkful of homecooked to each meal as well. The other night, I forgot to take a premeasured bag of homecooked out of the freezer so for her breakfast, all she was getting was her Acana kibble. I was surprised and thrilled to see that she ate it as it was with nothing added to it. She loves the kibble that much! |

| Nope and I am not even sure if I can get shipped to me.. not worth it. It will be too expensive by the time it gets to me... Nutram seems a really good replacement though... It has chicken, whole potato, green peas, Salmon, fish oil and other good ingredients following... What do you think? Is it a good choice for Samy?

Our first order ewe placed on line, but recently found a place closer to home where I'll be placing our next order soon. I don't know if they have samples, but their prices are very reasonable

Senior Yorkie Talker | I hate to say it but I use Royal C, I have had a lot of issues with Bella's diet since the day we got her, after many attempts we have found that RC works the best. Nothing against Acana, we used that but found it didn't settle well with her tummy. I would try both and see what works best for your baby! Good luck

Donating YT 1000 Club Member | I did not realized you are located in Miami, so am I. There is a place down in Coral Gables that carries it. I spoke to them today and they have it in stock. My first order was on line, Amazon, but the freight was higher than the bag itself.I'll get that number and send it to you.
