| Pre-made Raw Diet - Any recommendations? I'd like to add pre-made raw to my yorkie's diet. I'm currently feeding her Artemis Small Breed Puppy Kibble and steamed chicken (only homemade thing she'll eat) and she's doing fine on it, but I feel like kibble is boring and when mixed with the steamed chicken she sometimes ignores and doesn't eat the kibble and I don't want her to be just a steamed chicken eater, so I'm considering adding pre-made raw also to her diet. I've heard excellent things about Honest Kitchen ( dehydrated human grade pre raw food) and Primal Raw. Just wondering which is better to try 1st or what pre-made raw feeders opinions are and if they've ever tried either or have other recommendations? Thanks. |

| I like Primal Raw and Stella & Chewy's. I like to rotate between the two, and my girls seem to like both equally. I have never tried the Honest Kitchen, so I can't really comment on that.

| Thanks! How often do you rotate? And did you start both pre-made diets (the Primal Raw and Stella & Chewy's) at the same time? Just wondering how one would transition 2 different types of food into a diet to not upset your dogs digestive and GI tract. |

| I'm using Stella & Chewies...I buy all four proteins...Chicken, Duck, Beef and Lamb in the 3 lb. bags...one bag lasts about a week, for my two, so then they get a new flavor...I like primal, too, as well as Bravo (complete)...If the Bravo is not the complete one, you have to do supplements, and I didn't want to do that...You won't believe how much your baby is going to love raw!!! |

| I typically rotate when we finish up the bag. Once they finish up the Primal Raw, we buy Stella & Chewy's the next time. My girls were already eating a kibble that is close to raw (Evo), and I can't remember for sure but I think I just gave them half kibble and then one nugget (partial serving for them) when we first introduced the raw. I didn't mix the food more than one or two times though. I'm not sure how sensitive your baby's stomach is. I know some dogs seem to love raw and others just don't take to it, more the former than the later though.

Furbutts = LOVE Donating Member Moderator | Primal and HK are both nice brands (I feed Primal); Stella and Chewies is another good one. I would choose one protein to start from, and see how she does. Maybe try chicken since she does well on this protein and doesn't seem to have allergies to it? Also, if you're going to rotate, remember to always save some novel proteins in case of allergies down the road .

No cooler necessary at all. It will stay frozen in your car for a good while, just like frozen groceries would. I usually defrost 3-4 days worth at a time, on the counter, then put the tupperware in fridge - and feed from that. I don't do the egg thing. My dogs transitioned w/ no side effects at all. Their poos just got non-smelly, smaller, firmer (not so "voluminous/fluffy"), great breath. IF there is any loose stool - it shouldn't last more than 2-3 days.

| I don't consider honest kitchen to be raw. All dehydrated food is cooked to some degree. But Preference is a good base, if you add in your own meats. Primal, S&C, and Barf are all excellent raw choices. |
