| Halo Dog Food Does anyone feed this food? From what I have read it sounds like a premium food, but was interested in some feedback. I am not even sure I could get it here in Hawaii...but I thought I'd ask. Thanks!

| I know Ellen Degeneres is one of the co-owners. I think it's all natural. My furbabies are on Wellness. I'd try it because I love Ellen, but I would have to order it online, since no one around here carries it. BTW, your babies look so adorable. Pam |

| I think we may give it a try as well. Everything that I am reading about it seems like it is extremely high quality! I can't imagine that Ellen would help develop anything less. I did find it at a few places here, so that's exciting! And thank you!

| I did check it out once, it seemed to be high quality... some of their treats I have seen are very expensive, so I dont know if this carries over to the food... it is usually very difficult to locate, which is why it is not often recommended. Let us know how you like it if you try it out.

| I don't think it's a bad food. I think it's great compared to a lot of dog foods. But for me, it doesn't have enough meat in it. I personally prefer the grain-free dog foods. These are the 1st ingredients of the Halo, Chicken, Eggs, Pea Protein, Oats, Vegetable Broth, Pearled Barley, Chicken Fat (preserved with mixed tocopherols and citric acid), Whole Peas, From dogfoodanalysis: The first ingredient meat inclusive of water content which, once removed as it must be to make kibble, will leave these ingredients weighing around 20% of their wet weight. It is therefore likely that they are more accurately placed much further down the ingredient list. Meaning even though chicken is listed as the 1st ingredients, once the water content is removed, it will actually be placed further down on the ingredient list, and since it's not backed up by another "meat meal" it seems the food doesn't have very much meat.

| I used to feed Jack Halo brand and switched him to Innova Evo as I think the Innvoa Evo is better made. Halo was not bad and like Britster said, better than some dog foods out there. Honestly, I think Jack eats better than I do. LOL

| I used to feed Paco Halo (salmon). Its good quality food! Aside from the kibbles there were pieces of salmon, peas, cranberries, etc. But Paco would only eat the kibble and leave the other good stuff aside . So he's currently on Acana (small breed) and doing great on it!

| I feed my girls this for the last 4 years but I want to switch to something that has more meat or protein in it.

Thor's Human Donating Member | I feed Thor Halo. Of all the kibbles we tried (and we tried many), he liked Halo the best. I know it has lower meat than other kibbles out there, but I treat train him every day, and his treats are always some type of meat. He poops really well on that combo. They come out nice and fast, not too hard, not too soft. It's all about the poop for me, 'cause I'm creepy like that. Sometimes I'll stir a little beef liver power into the mix to give it some zing (mix here referring to the FOOD, not the POOP). But yes, there is usually a little trail around his bowl where's he's spat out all the pretty little extras in there, like the mini-dried carrots.
