| I would certainly bring it up to the vet. If its almost black, one possibility could be melena. Which is blood in the stool. Is it black and tarry like? Black & tarry indicates that it's been digested and would come from the upper intestines. I've read there could be any number of reasons for this. You said he doesn't eat great, did you recently change his diet? I know sometimes it can be as simple as that, but it could also mean an infection. Best to take him in to the vet and have them do a fecal check. Please give us an update!

| I agree with Reese1, just bring a poop sample to your vet. Hope it's nothing serious.
