Default Riley hasn't lost any puppy teeth yet.

He'll be 5 months old on the 26th and he hasn't lost one puppy tooth yet. Is that bad? I'd like to have him neutered around 6 months but he can't possibly lose a whole mouth full of teeth in that short amount of time...can he?

Do you have chew toys for him?
Nylabones work great. He can still
be neutered with his baby teeth.
I would ask your vet about his teeth,
maybe they are just really strong.

Sometimes those puppy teeth are so small that it can be difficult to tell when one has fallen out. Before you know it the adult tooth has filled the gap, etc.

When you take him in to be neutered you can visit with your vet and ask if there is any overcrowding or whatnot. The vet should confirm w/ you if any babyteeth need pulling and stuff.

Oh ya...he has plenty of toys and I just picked up no less than 8 Nylabones before dinner. I keep telling Jo to play tug-of -war with him and loosen a few of his teeth but he doesn't listen!

Yes, I remember those tiny front baby teeth that seem to disappear all at once...then they really look funny! Jo lost those pretty close together at 4 to 5 months I think but it seemed to take a while for the others to come out. Our vet is really good and very cost conscience...he didn't charge us to pull Jo's last puppy tooth when he neutered him. Also, Jo was Cryptochid (sp?). Our vet in Illinois was going to charge at least $400.00 for that surgery and more if it got complicated but our new vet here did the same surgery and only charged us $150.00. Now, if he can do it for that the others can too and it really frosts my cookies that the others wanted to charge us so much. Plus they would have charged to pull even one puppy tooth. But...I digress...sorry! Anyway, Riley has an excellent bite and I'd really hate to see it get blown so maybe I'll have him checked in a few weeks to see what the Dr. thinks.

chachi was five months old before he lost any teeth. He lost them all except 4 that were pulled when he was neutered.

Samson has only lost 2 teeth, that I know of, and he is 7.5 months old. I only knew about these because they were his upper canines and his adult teeth were growing in right next to the baby ones so it looked like he had double teeth on both sides. We are taking him to get neutered next week so I was going to have his teeth looked at to see if they need pulled but they came out on their own last week. I never found them anywhere but they're not in his mouth!!! I am still going to have his teeth looked at to see if any other ones need pulled.

Default Dummy me..

Romeo started losing his at 5 months...I would tell my husband not play so hard with him because I didn't want all his teeth to fall out..should have kept my mouth shut! He went in last Friday to have 2 upper canines pulled and looking the receipt just now..it said 3 teeth on it...they didn't even tell me there was more when I picked him up. It was a total of $158.75...Denero was neutered at the same time and it was only $123.70..odd that it cost more to lose your teeth than your jewels!!! I'm gonna make sure we play plenty of tugowar with Denero when his baby teeth start to come out...don't want to go through that again if I can help it!!!
