| He might be scratching because of the shampoo .. maybe the shampoo gave him dry skin? Don't bathe him often.. dogs should not be bathe too often! I am yet to find out how often to bathe Samy but all dog owners I know say once a couple of months... My vet said once a month and only with special shampoo for him so he does not get itchy and scratchy

| Are you sure the reason that he is scratching is from dry skin? It might be allergies. Pebbles scratched all the time until I changed her food and started adding Coconut Oil to her diet. She now has totally stopped scratching. I believe it was a chicken and grain allergy. What are you feeding? I have all of mine a bath once a week and believe that it is pretty standard of most members on YT to bath anywhere from weekly to every other week. If I wait too much longer their hair looks just horrible.

| Once a week - faithfully! Yorkie's hair isn't like most dogs. I know my previous vet said the same thing but unfortunately not all vets are familiar with breed specific care.

| I wouldnt use people shampoo on him, while most shampoos are "safe" they are much to harsh for their skin and could be causing the itching. I would bathe your baby with a very mild shampoo and see if that helps, if it does not you can start to look at other reasons for the itching. I use either Eqyss brand or Kiehls brand shampoo and conditioner on mine and bathe them every other week

Donating YT 1000 Club Member | I just ordered it! Do you like it? Do you also use the ACV after the shampoo?

That is probably the reason because it's like a detergent and too strong. Yorkies are not like regular dogs when it comes to skin and hair. The product I use is not a detergent based soap. It is a castile and olive oil based cleaning liquid and other natural ingredients that are great for sensitive skin and conditions the hair.

My babies still like RC, but the scratching is a sign that something is not agreeing with them.

| In the summer, it's typically 1x a week bath for Jackson. In the winter, I can go as long as every other week or more.
