| Solid Gold I have been trying to find a low protein food that I am happy with for my MVD dogs. Right now they are eating California Natural but the kibbles are HUGE, they dont make the chicken formula in small bites. Solid Gold Holistique Blendz fits my criteria and has small kernels BUT their food is made at the Diamond Plants AND it contains Ethoxiquin (sp?) neither of which I am happy about. So has anyone fed Solid Gold and been happy with it?

| I feel the same way about the Wellness that I am feeding Lucy. It's a good lower protein food - but the kibbles are huge. I put them in a baggie and try to smash them up . . . . but then they are tiny little crumbs. I've never tried the Solid Gold. |

| I feed royal canine and solid gold, the only thing I dont like about solid gold is even the small kibbles are still a little big for my guys .. both are still puppies 6 mo and 3 mo old .. they can eat the Royal Canine better because the kibbles are really small .. I heard so many good things about Solid gold that I wanted to try ... They both eat it really well but have trouble with the larger kibbles .. both are under 2lbs right now |

| I feed solid gold wee bit to my chihuahua and am planning to feed the puppy formula to my new yorkie. My chi does very well on the wee bit and the kibble is small enough for him to munch well. I work in a pet boutique in Manhattan which sells food and I usually recommend solid gold if people are looking for a good food but I'm not sure of the protein difference between the Holistique and the wee bit. Another suprizingly low protein food is Halo Spot's stew. It has a lot of veggies in it so that cuts down on the protein, especially in the canned variety. However, if does cost a bit more and I am not too sure on the kibble size but maybe go to your local natural pet food store and see if you can feel the bag. =) I hope this helps. |
