| Horizon Legacy Grain Free Dog Food Yes... another food thread! I know we're all on the search for the "perfect" food for our dogs. Jackson's doing really well on Nature's Variety Instinct right now, but I think I wanna have 2 more foods to rotate him with so he doesn't get bored (and believe me, he def. gets bored! my picky eater!) Or at least one more. He likes the bit of Acana we tried yesterday, and he also likes Merrick's Before Grain, both can be bought locally. Has anyone ever used or heard of this Horizon food? It looks really good to me. I like a food with a lot of meat for him (and so does he!), and this one has the first 4 ingredients being meat. The only thing is, I think I'd have to order this food online because their site says it doesn't sell it locally near me so I don't know if I wanna do that or not, but I thought it was worth taking a look at if anyone else was interested! Ingredients: Fresh chicken meat, chicken meal, salmon meal, turkey meal, pea starch concentrate, green split peas, chicken fat (preserved with mixed tocopherols, rosemary, citric acid), whole eggs, flaxseed, salmon oil, dried alfalfa, carrots, apples, broccoli, bok choy, cabbage, cranberries, Saskatoon berries, dried kelp, dried pumpkin meal, colostrum, sea buckthorn, fenugreek protein meal, dried pomegranate, dried astragalus root, dried milk thistle, glucosamine HCl, chondroitin sulphate, garlic, enzymes (dried aspergillus oryzae fermentation extract, dried aspergillus niger extract, pineapple, dried trichoderma longibrachiatum fermentation product, rhizopus oryzae), probiotics (dried enterococcus faecium fermentation product, dried lactobacillus casei fermentation product, dried lactobacillus acidophilus fermentation product, dried bifidobacterium bifidum fermentation product, and dried lactobacillus plantarum fermentation product), yucca schidigera extract, mannan oligosaccharide (MOS), burdock Nutritional Information Crude Protein (min.): 34% Crude Fat (min.): 15% Crude Fibre (max.): 3.5% Moisture (max.): 10% Ash (max) 8.4% Glucosamine (max) 500 mg/kg Chondroitin (max) 300 mg/kg Omega 3:1%** Omega 6:3%** Horizon Pet Nutrition

| I looked at this food a while back and thought the ingredients looked great. But, I've never been able to try it because it contains chicken. If you decide to order it online, I recommend Premium & Organic Dog Food and Dog Treats - Free Shipping. I've ordered from them several times - they have excellent service.

| Looks awesome Brit as long as you're ok with the garlic. I always was fine with it. Do you know where the kibble is made and manufactured? If it's independent , looks like it would be a great kibble. Hugs!- Snick & Viv

And the reason I became interested in the food too was because where it's made! It's made in Canada at a small manufacturing company, they're all local ingredients, the website shows the pics of the factory and the workers. I will see, I'm not gonna go and purchase anything right away tho 'til the NV bag is almost gone, hopefully I can decide on a 2nd food by then

| Oh that's great!!! Acana is made in Canada and has saved me from the picky eater kibble adventure. I would go for it, and if Snick ever decides to revolt on the Acana, I will keep it in mind!! Thanks! Viv

| I think it's a great food. I got a free bag online so we tried it. My baby did very well on it, but didn't seem to be a favorite. I don't know if they send samples, but I have a bit left and can send you a small baggy if you want to try it. |

| In consideration that the top 3 ingredients are complete proteins, I would definitely consider this an option for kibble. |
