| Switched to Primal But How Much? Hi Everyone, I am not a new member, but this is my first post. I don't know if I am doing this correctly. I have a 3.5lb girl named Daisy who will be 2 yrs. old in June. I have had many food problems since I got her. At first she was on kibble from the breeder. Somewhere she got a yeast infection, I think from the grains. My first trial with raw was with Stella and Chewey's frozen patties and with a bone to chew on once a day. She was always hungry even on 2 patties which is way more than the recommendation. However, looking back on it I think it was too much bone and at too early of an age. She got stomach problems and had to be on meds. I then tried raw on my own with just ground meat and added vitamins and probiotics and a vegetable. But I worried about if I gave her a balanced diet. She began itching and biting her paws. I had found out earlier she couldn't tolerate grains, also. So now I am giving her Primal --2 oz. a day. (1oz. morning, 1/2 oz. lunch, and 1/2 oz dinner) She is still hungry. I have to be firm with her othewise she barks at me. She has only been on this since Tues. I guess after all this conversation my question is: Will she adjust to this amout? It is more than the recommendation by Primal to maintain weight. She was getting 2 oz. of raw with my homemade version and was content with that amount. This forum is very helpful and interesting. I get carried away reading all the posts and information. Before I know it an hour is gone. All of you have such interesting "little ones" with such cute faces posted and "wardrobes" of hair ribbons. They certainly are loving little things. This is my first dog. And she is so much company for me. Thank you for any answers you may have. I apologize for the length of this. Daisy is ready for lunch. Arline |
