Chattering Jaw Hi all! i have been away from YT for some time now with computer issues but I am back up now. I just wanted to share my experiences right now and hopefully get some feed back as well. I took Bailey to the vet today to have his teeth looked at and he said that the baby canines will need to be extracted when he gets nuetered. i thought, ok thats thats fine, i hear thats common. then he checks his lower area to make sure both testicles are there and he can only find one. so he tells me that in order to neuter poor bailey he will have to have a surgery and open up his abdomen to search for the missing testi. he said that if the testi is left inside it could become a tumor. i noticed yesterday when i gave bailey a cheerio while he was trying to eat it his lower jaw was chatering pretty bad. i really didnt think much of it, i just figured it had to do with his teeth but i thought i should ask the vet just to be sure. he told me that chattering is simlar to a seizure and that it is a nurological issue and that he wanted to test his blood to see how his liver is doing. he took a blood sample and i will get the results back on monday. bailey hasnt been himself today and i just hope that it is because the vet violated him and took his blood. has anyone experienced a chattering jaw? sorry for the long post and any comments will be apreciated.

First of all, I want to say I sure hope Baileys blood work comes out okay! Have you ever noticed his jaw chattering before? I've seen Maddie move her mouth funny...kinda like a chattering...when I'm playing with her and she's waiting for me to throw a toy. I think she's just overanxious for the toy and does that. Keep us posted on Bailey and I'll say a prayer that all turns out well! These little ones can worry us so!

| Sorry little Bailey is having some problems. You said that you noticed the chattering when you were giving him a Cherrio? Is it possible that it could have something with him having the two sets of teeth? Just a thought ... I remember when Toto still had her baby and permanent teeth that she sometimes would have great difficulty eating crunchy things. I believe her mouth was sore ... I know she slobbered so badly, I had to constantly dry her little chest. Please keep us updated on Bailey and we will keep him in our prayers.

Thank you for your comments so far, they really make me feel better. it just seems obvious that it would be because of the extra set of teeth growing in but when the vet said it was a nurological thing thats when i got worried. i just hope he is wrong. we will know for sure tomorrow and i will keep you all informed. its great to hear that some of your babies grew out of the jaw chattering. bailey is back to his normal self this morning. i think that when te vet took a blood sample it just ruined his day and made him sleepy and depressed. i'm just glad he is back to normal today! now we can just pray for a healthy blood panel thanks again fellow yorkie lovers!

Both of my female yorkies chatter when they are playing with their toys - I guess they get excited! We haven't noticed it any other times. As for scaring you and saying it was neurological, I tend to doubt that. A lot can be found out through the bloodwork, though, :so I'll keep the little one in my prayers!

Blood Work Good! hi all! good news! bailey has good blood! thank you all for your great responses, you all made me feel so much better. i think it is safe to say that we can rule out teeth chattering being caused by nurological problems. tomorrow bailey goes in to remove is manhood (poor guy) and also to extract his baby teeth. hopefully that may be the cause of the teeth chattering, or possibly because he wants to mate - hehe thanks again guys and wish my baby luck tomorrow!
