| Advice Please... Food and Potty Questions SORRY FOR THE LONG POST...I'm home all day with Rambo. My husband and I thought well if he's hungry he will eat. So we keep food in his dish. Well the problem with this is sometimes he will "Snack" on his food around noon, but that is only like 1 or 2 days a week and a bite at most. Most of the time he will eat around 5-6pm then expects to eat at like midnight. I try to get him to eat earlier like sitting by his bowl and try to hand feed him but he won't stay there for long. Right now it's okay because I don't work, but what about when I go back to work? What would be a great way to switch what time he eats? Also, he will poo in the morning when he first gets up. And usually around 1am at night before bed. I have tried to take him out 1/2 hr after he eats to see if he will poo, but he doesn't. I have even stayed and walked with him for up to an hour to no avail. We use a word "hurry" when I want him to poo but it seems to only work when he wants to poo.

| I so feel your pain... our Lily (who is almost three) is a midnight snacker and will sneak downstairs and leave a log for us in the morning We take her food away at night then when she wakes up in the morning she is hungry and eats. Now Lily is also not underweight, and it took her some time to get used to this. I know you are worried, what does your vet say. Does he have any underlying medical issues? If not then I would let him go hungry at night and maybe leave the food out all day for him to pick at. Yorkies are notorious for grazing their food all day. You may want to talk to your vet about switching food? Good luck!

| I will pick up the food so he doesn't eat at midnight, but will leave his water. He is very healthy. I thought it may have been his food so I am switching him from Eukanuba (sp?) to Natures Recipe well in the process. I do leave his food out all day... I was thinking I may Hold it for a day then try and give it to him in the morning see if he eats it then give him his 2nd bowl later in the evening and not leave it out all day. But to me he would have to be hungry so thats why I thought I would hold it for one day. All thoughts and opinions welcome!

| I know not to expect anything immediate. I was just looking for advice on how to change his eating times, for when i go back to work because the times he does eat right now will not work out later. I was wondering if anyone else had to change the times there dog ate. As for the pooping question I was wondering if its my dog that wont poop 1/2 hr after eating, heck not even for hours later, or if there are other dogs like that out there. Also my little guy is 9mths, and is very healthy.

| I always worked with mine so I just fed twice a day and still do. It works for us and we can predict their poop schedule. Mine take crappers twice a day, on schedule. I feel home cooked for the most part, but I've used Merrick and Wellness foods and they still were twice-a-day poopers. you can add a little nonfat plain yogurt (no artificial sweeteners) (1 tbsp or so) and maybe some veggies to the mix of dog food and see if that perks your dog up into eating more. I prefer to feed on a schedule because it works with our schedule and I like to know who is crapping when. I dont like little surprises
