| Not sure when Cleo is next on Heat hi, Cleo had her last heat end of August/Beginning of September. Was wondering how many months are between heats. Also my other yorkie (Max) has started to get on the back of Cleo, just wondered if this is a sign that she might be due to come on her heat again? Thanks

| It varies, depending on the female. 6 months is average, but not always the case. So in short, there really is no telling. I would strongly advise, that since your knowledge in this area is clearly very limited, that you have one (or both) or your firkids spayed/neutered. Otherwise, if your male continues as he is, your female is going to end up pregnant--somethign that can obviously be easily prevented. |

thanks for the advice. I am still learning about the female dogs as i have only ever owned a male dog in the past. i would not want then spayed/neutered as i would like to breed them in a year or so. i do, however have a 'bitch spray' that i have started to use and it seems to work, so the male will hopefully stay of her.

| If you are not will to spay or nuter then the only thing you can do it keep them seperate. Seperate crates or babygates to keep them in seperate rooms of the house. That will be hard because the male will want to get at the female as he will smell she is in heat a mile away. I hope that you are willing to do a lot more research before you breed and I would really like to see these 2 fixed until you have a mentor to help you. |
