| Using Past "best before" Date I was kind of surprised, when the owner of a little (holistic) boutique I freqent, gave me a bag of doggy treats, yesterday, that were past the best before date? She told me that although they were expired, they were still good...Because I'm so picky about that sort of thing, I just have to ask what others think about this practice? I've got friends that use some (human) things past the date, and think I'm a bit neurotic (well, I am lol)...What do you guys think about this? Btw, they are about 6 months past the "best before" date... |

| Good question! Hmm, honestly I don't know anything about dog food... but w/ human food, sometimes I'll still eat it 1 or 2 days after the "best sell by" but no more than that. 6 months seems like a long time?

| Don't you wish you could smell and tell Mags?? That's what I do with milk, esp since I drink organic and it's so expensive!!!! I've heard dog food sometimes expires before the "best by" date so I don't think I would use it girly. I would also check the ingredients of the product but I know you feed raw so I doubt the treat is full of grains which would not go bad as soon as meats/fruits/veggies etc. Just my opinion...they put an expiration date on it for a reason right? Hugs- Viv

| I don't use things past the "use by date". It is not worth the risk. JMO |

| Good answers ....I haven't given them any, because I was unsure, myself...Why on earth would I even consider it ...I'm not likely to use anything, for myself, after it's expired one week...Why would I even consider it for my babies...My bad... |
