Donating YT 10K Club Member | She's refusing dog food because the table food is more appealing. Eliminate giving her people food. Continually changing foods can also lead to picky eaters. Mine all love Taste of the wild kibble and the freshpet "fresh" foods.

| If we don't give her 'people food' she will not eat, and might pass out. |

| Get your dog checked by a vet. My Gina started to get so picky and refused to eat almost all food and vomited - sometimes - at night. Turned out she had Inflammatory Bowel Disease and after 5 days in the hospital with transfusions she had to be put down. Heartbroken here. She was almost 12 years old and have never had any health problems before. Cherie |

| I was told to feed Gina chicken and rice. She would not eat it. Your vet needs to run some tests - Check for Inflammatory Bowel Disease and Pancreatitis. Please don't wait too long. Cherie |

| Have you tried chicken, turkey or lamb baby food? I used this when transitioning to a new food for my newly acquired dogs. I also soak kibble in low sodium chicken broth or beef broth, and I mix Little Cesars in with it. And anything else they like like cottage cheese, yogurt (including berry and vanilla flavored), sprinkled with Parmesan cheese. Also I have blended chicken and water so it cannot be separated and added that. It took a few months but finally they are all eating the same thing. Some of the kibble sold can be returned if your dog won't eat it. Also, avoid any food with fish or salmon meal as an ingredient, and/or the preservative ethoxiquin. Sometimes too I will hand feed one of mine (not always the same one). I have to watch them eat anyway and I treat it as a bonding experience. Sometimes once they've started eating (4-5 bites) they'll eat the rest on their own, and sometimes not. And I agree, a vet check may be in order to rule out any medical conditions predisposing her to this behavior. And they will not eat dog food if they think they're going to get human food.

| Thanks for the suggestions, we will take Pinky to vet and ask for those tests to be done, although after reading the symptomps each of them carries, she doesnt really exhibit any of them. She eats the doggie recipe meals no problem, I am going to try baby food and crushing the orijen into mashed potato style mixing it see what happens Thanks for your care and help! |

| Fix for Fussy eaters Try mixing canned or fresh tripe in with the kibble. Most dogs go crazy over it and it's really good for them. My super fussy eater goes nuts for his kibble not i I mix in a teasoop or so. |

| My Jack is pickie and I am trying to break him from chicken and get him on some premium dog food. I have notice that while trying to figure out what he would or would not eat he sometimes did the throw up foam stuff. Mine case may be different from yours but I took it as something was too strong for his tummy. I found it was the BilJack chicken flavor dog food (I think it was adult formula and too strong for his ittle tiny tummy. Took it back, he really didn't like it anyway. |

| So happy to hear the tests were good. Soft food for inflamed gums seems to be a good start. Kibble is too hard for their little teeth. Did the vet recommend anything? |

Good thing you found this out! I don't have any home remedies, other than brushing their teeth, but she may be too painful if it's stopping her from eating. Brushing is something you could start after she has a dental, and feeding her kibble will help to keep them clean.
