| Please help....Respiratory Infection!!!! I have a 15 week old puppy that has been on 3 different antibiotics and Clemastine for a respiratory infection. She has been on meds since she was 10 weeks old. She had a runny nose with hacking and sneezing...it is better to a point but still this puppy is hacking/coughing everyday! She has always ate good, plays good, sleeps good, gained weight, she never acted as though she felt bad threw it all! I am so confused as to what this is and why it wont go away!!! Anyone with experience with this kind of illness? Should I keep giving her meds that are not making her well? They said it just takes a while, well to me it has been a while. When can I expect this to go away. Pulse I have 2 other dogs that I heard sneezing this week ugggg.

| Thanks PrincessDiana! Just so everyone knows, I am continuing her meds till the vet says to stop. But I'm wondering if I should stop to see if she will get better with her own immune system. I am worried about over doing the antibotics and then something else creep up! Like her kidneys or liver. But mostly I am wondering if anyone has had experience with this taking such a long time to get well. Thanks y'all!

| Your baby sounds just like our Jax. He was on antibiotics from the time we got him at 8 weeks until he was I think 5 months or so? I can't remember exactly but it was a looooong time. He went through several antibiotics too when he had a respiratory infection & one point he even got worse (borderline pneumonia). We kept him on his meds until the prescription was gone and fed him some plain yogurt as well because we were told that will help as well. Our vet said even after he had finished his prescription it would be normal if he still coughed for up to a month & he did but he eventually got better. I think overall it may have taken almost two months for him to get completely healed of the respiratory infection.
