| Do You Have a Picky Eater? Are all Yorkies picky eaters, or is it just some like mine? I want to feed her dry kibble and have tried several kinds. When I first gave her Canidae puppy formula she just gobbled it up. After a while she quit eating it unless it was mixed with something she liked, like ground beef or chicken. She is 11 months old now so I switched her to the Canidae Yorkshire Terrier formula. She hates it, won't even eat it mixed with people food. I have also tried some of the premium canned pet food, but she wouldn't even taste that. I work and don't have time to cook just for her, so sometimes I give in and give her a little beef or chicken or turkey or even cheese, but I know I shouldn't. My husband says she won't ever eat dry food if we give her other stuff (he should talk, he gives her the last bite of whatever he eats!). I just can't stand to think she's hungry. She weighs 8.5 lbs. so I know she's not starving. What should I do? |

| My baby is also very picky but so far she really likes halo spots stew chicken recipe kibble. I try not to give her any bites of people food but she is very persistant and I have been known to give in. Just keep trying I know it is hard but you will find some she likes! |

| Addie and Mia (chihuahua) are also picky eaters, but especially Addie (she's the yorkie). Our new yorkie Dany is picky so far, but I think that may change once her mouth feels more comfortable (the humane society had to pull four teeth before they adopted her out). Addie would "like" some foods when she was younger and then a couple of weeks later decide she no longer liked it. I also feed them Halo's Spot Stew (chicken formula) and Addie is a much better eater. Mia pretty much eats whatever Addie is willing to eat, so she seems to like it too. |

| I always thought Teddi didn't have much of an appetite but I discovered that I was feeding her double what she should be getting. She should be getting 1/4 a cup of food daily (so 1/8 a cup morning and nite) and I was giving her 1/4 a cup morning and nite. So I think that's why she sometimes wouldn't eat (she never gained a lot of weight or anything) but she would stop eating sometimes....probably because she was not hungry!! Also, I bought some coconut chips at Whole Foods (in the dried fruit area) and she LOVES them so I sprinke some of those in her food and she eats it right away now!!!

| Bailey was very picky at that age - then I put her on a homemade raw diet and she absolutely loves it.
