| Possible remedy for Yorkies with skin problems Last week I went for a haircut and told my hairdresser about my new little Yorkie. She said her mother-in-law has a Yorkie and that when she saw the dog and petted it, she noticed white flakes and then felt little bumps all over the dogs body. Her mother-in-law told her that she had gotten some special stuff from the vet, but wasn't noticing any improvement. Deb, my hairdresser, said she gave her mother-in-law Nioxin shampoo and scalp conditioner and told her to try that. She tried it and within 3 weeks (bathing once a week), the puppy was totally cleared up of any signs of bumps or dandruff! Nioxin is meant for humans, but is all natural in ingredients, so I think I'm going to try some on my Maddie because I do notice dandruff when I brush her. I tried Nioxin myself, a couple years back and you can even brush your teeth with the stuff! I tried it...LOL...it has a minty taste...and it feels so good washing the hair with it...gives a tingle! Anyway, since I've seen lots of posts here with Yorkie skin problems, I thought I'd pass this on. Nioxin is a little spendy, but hey...they're worth it! Hope this helps those of you having this type problem with your sweeties! |

| Hi, im a hairdresser (well was before i gave up to have my children) We used to sell nioxin in our salon, but not for the reasons you mentioned. We used to sell to balding men, whom thought (as it advertised) that it would make there hair grow back thicker. It would make your scalp tingle as it is suppose to massage your follicles. We did use it on a few women with very fine hair that was prone to breaking, and we found that over the course of a few months there hair did grow without too much breakage. The shampoo contains alot of protein, hence thicker, longer hair. Well, thats here in the UK |
