| My baby is pee-ing too much! Betty Boop was at the groomer today for about 2 hours and she peed 5 times!! I know she pees a lot at home, but I never thought much about it. Some days she drinks 3/4 cup of water and other days not so much. She is 8 months old. Could she be diabetic? I am taking her to the vet tomorrow. Any thoughts?

| I would recommend having blood work done on Betty Boop. I just took in my neighbors yorkie as a "rescue" situation and noticed excessive water consunption and urinating. After taking him to the vet I found out he is diabetic. I now need to give him insulin 3 time per day, the vet thinks once we get him regulated he will take insulin 2x per day. There are so many health ailments that can arise due to diabetes so you may want to have her checked being her current symptom is huge.

| She might have a urinary tract infection. My little guy had the same thing when he was 2 months. He was peeing up to six times an hour and some days he would drink a lot of water, other days he would hardly drink any. I hope this helps, and good luck at the vet tomorrow!! |

I ♥ Joey & Ralphie! Donating Member | Has she been fixed lately, I've read that UTI's are very common after spaying.

| I sure hope she isn't diabetic. One of my cats was diabetic for 10 years and finally succumbed to it. I had my hands full at that time!! Two injections a day and testing throughout the day. I'll pray for a UTI instead!

| She was spayed early January. She has always peed excessively so I don't know what it could be. Hopefully, a UTI.

I ♥ Joey & Ralphie! Donating Member | The first year Joey peed much more than he does at three, he probably pees the same amount, but it's just a couple of times a day, instead of every couple of hours.
