Yorkie Yakker | Yorkie teeth cleaning Hey everyone!! Let me start by saying that i'm a little overprotective of my yorkie! She is only 6 pounds and she always makes me smile. She has to get her teeth cleaned. The vet that we take her too wants to give her anesthesia to clean her teeth. I think that this is a little much for a six pound yorkshire terrier to go through just to get her teeth cleaned. The vet that I used to use for my family yorkshire terrier before I got married (my mom still takes him there) does not use anesthesia. He gives my other yorkie a tranquilizer to clean their teeth. I"m not sure if I should continue using the vet that my husband and I use and trust that he knows what he is doing with the anesthesia or if I should go to the vet that uses the tranquilizer. I hear such horror stories about yorkies and anesthesia and it seems so uneccessary in this case. I hate making decisions as it is and I'm so afraid that I will make the wrong decision and that my princess might get hurt!! Please give me any input that you can! Thanks! |

| I think we all share the same concerns here on YT, but a lot of fantastic vets in the field believe that anesthesia is the right way to go. It is really up to you though. What anesthetic protocol does the new vet use?
